Incoming Students

There are two common ways for incoming students to spend their time at the Medical University of Innsbruck (MUI). The first option is to study for one or two semesters via the Erasmus+ Mobility for Studies programme. The second option is to complete an internship or write a thesis at one of the MUI research institutes. You can find more information on both options below.

If you want to study for one or two semesters at the MUI via the Erasmus+ programme, you must apply through your home university. If you are selected to study abroad, your home university will nominate you to the International Office at the Medical University of Innsbruck. The International Office will then handle the administrative procedures and provide you with all the necessary information.

You can find the information page for incoming students of the MUI International Office here.

Available internships at the MUI, including possibilities to write your bachelor or master thesis at one of our research institutes, are published on the NeurotechEU Internship Platform.

If there are no internships at your preferred research institute listed here, you are welcome to contact the institute directly to enquire about any available research opportunities. You can find an overview of the institutions (‘Medical Theoretical Facilities’) here. If you make a direct enquiry with a research institute, please put neurotecheu@i-med.ac.at in the ‘cc’ field.
